Kris and I flew into our new home state last night. It's great to finally be here but last night was rough. We were exhausted, cranky, anxious, scared and had to find a hotel to give us a room. When we finally made it, we both fell asleep as our heads hit the pillows.
To say that this is a new environment would be an understatement. Back home in Florida, it's sunny beach weather. Here, it's ridiculously cold. So this will definitely take some adjusting. But after 11 months of anticipation, we have made it to our new home! I can't wait to start exploring and living our new life together!
This is a blog where you'll get to know the real me. The good, the bad and everything in between. I'm using this blog to document my life experiences, my thoughts and my memories. So come on this little journey with me. I'd love to have you. Just promise me that you will only promote positivity on this blog and I promise that I'll be me, unapologetically.

Making Progress
As I've mentioned before, Kristopher and I are moving very soon. Monday, in fact. We're moving over 1,000 miles away from our childhood home. It's scary but thrilling all at the same time!
And we've had so much to do ever since he got home! There is still so much to get done! I'm pretty overwhelmed but I'm confident that we can do everything.
So far we have booked the movers, booked our flight, did most of the packing, gone car shopping and started saying our goodbyes to our family members. While there is still a lot to get done, we are glad that we're checking things off of our to-do list!
We're hoping that we can get the rest done very quickly so that our last few days home can be spent worry/stress free and we can enjoy our remaining time with our families!

It's Scary
Yesterday, Kris told me that we finally have a moving date! We're going to pack up our stuff and move thousands of miles away from our home state to our new home. Finally.
I've been waiting 11 months to move and it's so surreal that it's finally almost over. But even though it's exciting and what I've been waiting for, it's also extremely scary. We're going to be thousands of miles from our families, our friends and the only home that we've ever known. We have to start over, meet new people, learn a whole new state.
The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I won't be able to call my parents to help me whenever I have a problem. I won't live in my small town anymore, where everyone knows everything about everybody. I won't be living in an area where it's 100 degrees all year. Kris and I will be getting on a plane and leaving everything behind.
I know that this is a necessary step and that it's going to be fun. But it's crazy that it's finally all happening and I'm starting to feel very overwhelmed because I'll truly be leaving the nest.
As much as I've complained about how much I wanted to leave this state, I'm really going to miss it. It's my comfort zone, my home. I'm truly going to miss it when it's gone and only a memory.

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week
Well, it's finally Friday again, which means that we made it through another week! Friday is probably my favorite day of the week because it feels like when it finally gets here, it's like a mini accomplishment.
But this was a pretty big week for me and now I'm feeling pretty reflective. So I figured that it would be a good idea to list 5 things that made me happy during this particular week!
1. Today I woke up and realized that exactly 4 weeks from today, I'll be turning 21! I have plans with my family for the night of my birthday and I'm really excited!
2. I found out where Kristopher and I will be stationed! It's super far from where I grew up, so I'm a little scared of being so far from home but I'm excited for the adventure that we're about to embark on.
3. I learned the Spanish version of "Let It Go" from Frozen. I am someone who loved Spanish class in school and I ended up taking it for four years. But because I haven't taken the class in so long, I've gotten a little rusty. So I've been watching movies in Spanish and listening to the music to help me get back into the Spanish mindset. But just like millions of people across the world, I loved Frozen and all of the songs. So I'm really happy that I learned to sing "Let It Go" in another language.
4. My grandmother turned 79! I have a very close relationship with my grandmother and she means the world to me. I'm so glad that I was able to call her and have a really wonderful conversation with her. I'll be seeing her tomorrow as well, which I'm excited about. I cherish every moment that I have with her.
5. I've been working through my writer's block! I'm someone that can't stand to be lazy and I have to be doing something all the time. Being unproductive is something that I just can't stand. It makes me feel guilty. I've been writing a novel for a few months now and I've hit a bump in the road. But I don't want my notebook to just sit around gathering dust. So I've been pushing myself to get past the writer's block and was actually able to get some much-needed work done on it. I'm pretty proud of myself for actually going through with it.
So those are just 5 of the things that made me happy this week! What are your happy things?
