Kris and I flew into our new home state last night. It's great to finally be here but last night was rough. We were exhausted, cranky, anxious, scared and had to find a hotel to give us a room. When we finally made it, we both fell asleep as our heads hit the pillows.
To say that this is a new environment would be an understatement. Back home in Florida, it's sunny beach weather. Here, it's ridiculously cold. So this will definitely take some adjusting. But after 11 months of anticipation, we have made it to our new home! I can't wait to start exploring and living our new life together!
This is a blog where you'll get to know the real me. The good, the bad and everything in between. I'm using this blog to document my life experiences, my thoughts and my memories. So come on this little journey with me. I'd love to have you. Just promise me that you will only promote positivity on this blog and I promise that I'll be me, unapologetically.

Throwback Thursday!
In honor of Throwback Thursday, I'm throwin' back to the day that I got my senior pictures taken! A family friend of mine did my hair and makeup, my mom helped me pick out my outfits and I got to pretend to be a model. We got the biggest package that they had, so when it came time to order them, we had a lot to choose from!
(The photos I'm posting are not the professional ones.)
This session was so much fun and I wish that I could do it over again. In fact, I wish that I could re-live my whole senior year again!
Happy Thursday!

Making Progress
As I've mentioned before, Kristopher and I are moving very soon. Monday, in fact. We're moving over 1,000 miles away from our childhood home. It's scary but thrilling all at the same time!
And we've had so much to do ever since he got home! There is still so much to get done! I'm pretty overwhelmed but I'm confident that we can do everything.
So far we have booked the movers, booked our flight, did most of the packing, gone car shopping and started saying our goodbyes to our family members. While there is still a lot to get done, we are glad that we're checking things off of our to-do list!
We're hoping that we can get the rest done very quickly so that our last few days home can be spent worry/stress free and we can enjoy our remaining time with our families!

2. Floral Lacy Back Cut-Out Chiffon Dress, buy here.
3. Leatherette Point Flare Dress, buy here.

Young Love
Kristopher is graduating soon and not long after, we'll be moving! Even though we've been married for 11 months, he's been gone for almost all of it. So we haven't gotten the chance to live together yet and we're both extremely excited about it!
I've been anticipating his return for so long that it's almost surreal that it's finally almost over! It's been a long, hard journey that I wouldn't have wanted to share with anyone else. I love him dearly and this experience has shown me just how strong our love is. Military relationships are not for the faint-hearted. They are tough, demanding and emotionally draining. But because we loved each other so much, we were able to get through it. We both knew that we were doing this for us and in the long run, this separation would pay off.
We may be young but our love is just as strong as anyone else's, if not more. Through this experience, we've faced many hardships that most couples will never have to. And even though I've felt a bit broken since he's been gone, our love is stronger than ever. He was worth every single second that we were apart. He gets to live his dream and I get to stand by his side, as his wife, and support him as he risks his life for our country. I never knew how strong love could be until I met him and I realize just how lucky we are to have each other.

It's Scary
Yesterday, Kris told me that we finally have a moving date! We're going to pack up our stuff and move thousands of miles away from our home state to our new home. Finally.
I've been waiting 11 months to move and it's so surreal that it's finally almost over. But even though it's exciting and what I've been waiting for, it's also extremely scary. We're going to be thousands of miles from our families, our friends and the only home that we've ever known. We have to start over, meet new people, learn a whole new state.
The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I won't be able to call my parents to help me whenever I have a problem. I won't live in my small town anymore, where everyone knows everything about everybody. I won't be living in an area where it's 100 degrees all year. Kris and I will be getting on a plane and leaving everything behind.
I know that this is a necessary step and that it's going to be fun. But it's crazy that it's finally all happening and I'm starting to feel very overwhelmed because I'll truly be leaving the nest.
As much as I've complained about how much I wanted to leave this state, I'm really going to miss it. It's my comfort zone, my home. I'm truly going to miss it when it's gone and only a memory.

Prom
We are currently in the middle of prom season. My local high school just had theirs last weekend and it made me think about my senior prom. I graduated high school in 2011 and that year, I went to 2 proms and a military ball. The military ball and the second prom were actually back-to-back, so I was absolutely exhausted when all of this craziness was over.
Kris and I went to two different high schools and we decided to go to both proms. His was about 3 weeks before mine. We went as a group with two of his friends and their girlfriends. We rented an escalade and stayed at prom for a little over 2 hours. His friends didn't want to eat before we arrived, so we ended up starving by 10 p.m. We walked the very short distance to The Cheesecake Factory and stuffed our faces. Afterwards, we went back to Kris' friend's house and hung out for a while. My curfew was midnight, so we didn't stay long. All in all, it was a pretty great night.

Kris and I decided that we wanted to go to my school's prom just as a couple. One of my friends at the time was dating Kris' friend but they didn't want dinner before the dance. I didn't like going to prom hungry and neither did Kris. So we agreed to meet them there. Kris' favorite restaurant is Olive Garden, so we decided to go there in our prom attire. We got a lot of looks and comments but they were all positive. After dinner, we went to the dance and had an amazing time. The DJ for my prom was actually a lot better, so we stayed longer and danced more. Everyone said that they liked my second dress better than my first and I have to sy that I agree! It definitely made more of a statement! Since we stayed out longer, I had less time to hang out with Kris afterwards. So he took me home and since his military ball was the night before, we both used Sunday to sleep all day. Exhausted doesn't even begin to describe how we both felt. They were two pretty great nights that I'll always remember fondly and there's no one else that I would've rather spent them with.
If you're going to the prom soon, be smart, make good choices and most of all, be safe.

Chelsea's Dating Profile
Carrie Hope Fletcher recently put up a YouTube video entitled, "Carrie's Dating Profile." I watched it and it looked like loads of fun! So I decided to do my own!
1. Do you believe in love at first sight?
I used to when I was younger but now I don't. I believe in "attraction" at first sight. I believe that you can look at someone and go, "Hey, I really like them. I'd like to date them." But I define love as being when you care about someone else as much as you care for yourself. So no, I don't think that those feelings develop the first time you see someone. I believe that those feelings develop over time as you get to know the other person. But of course, that's just my opinion.
2. What do you do for fun?
My favorite things to do are read, write, watch movies and go to the beach.
3. Do you want/have children?
I do not have any yet but I would love to have them someday. Ideally, I'd love to have 2 or 3.
4. What do you look for in a relationship?
Honesty, trust, loyalty, support, a best friend and someone who can make me laugh.
5. What is one thing about yourself that you'd like people to know?
I'm very blunt. So if someone asks me for my opinion on something, I give it to them honestly.
6. If you won the lottery, how would you spend your millions?
Honestly, I'm a very frugal person. I hate spending money. I'm definitely a saver. So if I won the lottery, as boring as it sounds, I'd probably pay my school tuition and then save the rest.
7. What was the first crush you've ever had?
I was 8 years old. I had a crush on a kid in my 3rd grade class. If you want to know the whole story, click here.
8. If you found out you only had 6 months to live, what would you do first?
Well, first I'd call my parents and my husband to tell them. Then I'd travel to all of the places that I've ever wanted to go.
9. Are you a morning person or a night person?
I'm not a morning person at all! I'm one of those people that you don't even wanna talk to until after I've had my coffee. I'm definitely a night owl.
10. If you have friends coming over, what do you cook?
I'm honestly much better at baking. I'm pretty limited with actual meals that I can cook. But if I had to cook, I'd probably make tacos or spaghetti. Those are pretty easy to make.
11. If you could travel back in time, what single mistake would you go back and correct?
Oh my gosh, so many of my mistakes are running through my head right now. I can't even fathom trying to pick just one. I honestly have no idea.
12. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see Kris and I on an army base somewhere. I'd like to be pregnant or to have already given birth to one child. I'd be done with college and working on a novel.

My 21st!
Well, today is the day! I'm 21 years old! It's a huge birthday and for the past few weeks or so, I've been thinking about birthdays and growing up in general.
I know that 21 isn't old; it's quite young. But I can't believe that so much time has passed! I hear adults say all the time, "You blink your eyes and 20 years have gone by." And now I know that to be so true. I can't believe that over 20 years have gone by. I can't believe that I have a 16-year-old sister. Time flies by way too quickly.
But with that said, I'm super excited that I reached another milestone birthday and I can't wait to celebrate through the weekend!
