Current Happy Thoughts

Today I started thinking about my life and all of the things that make it so wonderful. And I realized that I have a lot to be thankful for. My life isn't perfect by any means but it's definitely one that allows me to wake up every day with a smile. I am grateful for so many things like...

1. My marriage- People thought that I was crazy for getting married young and moving far away from home. In fact, I'm pretty sure that they still do. But I don't care about what anyone else thinks. I'm unbelievably happy that I got married young and that I spend every day with my favorite person in the world.

2. My friends- I've made some new friends that I have a lot in common with. Kris gets along with their husbands and it just feels pretty perfect. It's so nice to have couples friends. We had some of them over last night for dinner. They stayed over until after midnight and we couldn't stop laughing the entire time. That's how you know that you have good friends. I'm definitely very fortunate to have met them.

3. The scenery- I moved 1,400 miles away from home. That definitely caused a big change in scenery. I am no longer living by Florida's sandy beaches. Instead, I'm up in the mountains, surrounded by gorgeous rivers and lakes. It's breathtaking and living up here is a wonderful new experience that I'll never forget. It's definitely been an adventure so far and I can't wait to see where else the adventure takes us. I'm also really excited to see snow!

4. My books- Starting a new life and experiencing new things creates a lot of inspiration. I've been working like crazy on my books and I think that I've done my best work yet. I'm really proud of what I've done and I feel lucky that I live a life that enables me to follow my dreams.

5. Jax- This was a give-in, right? I cannot express the happiness that this little guy has given me since we got him. I'm so glad that we got him and I can't imagine my life without him. All it takes is a smile from him and my day is made. He's so loving and loyal that I can't imagine having a better dog.

In life, it's all about taking time to notice the little things, as well as the big things. I have so much that I'm thankful for and I couldn't imagine my life being any other way. I'm just grateful that I took all of the risks necessary to get here. They definitely paid off. Everything definitely fell into place.
